Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management

Course Code: G1040

This Diploma will support candidates to pursue a career in the human resource field. It will provide the candidate with an equivalent professional knowledge base as with the major in Human Resource Management. Careful consideration should be given to reviewing prerequisite requirements for individual units.

The Diploma will provide graduates with a strong understanding of the areas of professional human resource management including the strategic role, employment policies, legal and environmental regulations, interviewing and hiring, rewards and recognition, pay and benefits, diversity, job assessment, health and safety, ethics, negotiating and bargaining, and communications, motivation, organisational design, and the future direction of human resources.

Duration:1.5 years (combination of full-time and part-time study)
Availability: Murdoch campus (internal)
This course is not available to international students studying in Australia on a student visa; it is available to international students on other visas if visa conditions allow.
Restriction:All postgraduate courses are subject to restriction.
Employment Prospects:Career prospects are good as organisations are competing to retain and develop scarce, high quality talent in an increasingly competitive global market place. HRM has grown in importance in the past decade.
Professional Recognition:This course is accredited by the Australian Human Resource Institute (AHRI) and students are eligible for professional standing upon graduation.
Exemption from Postgrad Course Regulations:In this course, where appropriate, undergraduate units (between 100- and 400-level) have been included to meet the learning outcomes for the entire course. Postgraduate students can expect to be part of a learning community with undergraduate students in these units. This course has been granted a specific exemption from the Postgraduate Coursework Regulations.
