Entrepreneurship and Innovation (BCom)Course Code: B1003 Entrepreneurship, its evolution throughout the centuries and its impact on economic development has enjoyed great interest and recognition by industry and many universities around the globe in the last decades. In line with these views, the purpose of a BCom in this field is to prepare students with general management skills, encourage them to develop their own entrepreneurial mindsets and provide business theory and 'know-how' towards the creation and running of small to medium enterprises (SMEs). Entrepreneurial skills such as leadership, communication, creativity, innovation, feasibility determination, planning and evaluation of new commercialisation opportunities are explored. Students will be focusing on market research, future forecasting and sustainability, and financial analysis to develop comprehensive feasibility plans for future businesses. This major is regularly referred to as a foundation for students interested in postgraduate business qualifications, particularly an MBA.
