Accounting

Accounting is for those students who do not intend to become members of the professional accounting bodies but who need a strong background in the accounting discipline. Most top managers must have a firm understanding of accounting and the role it plays in the management process of any business or public enterprise.

In this major students will look at the effectiveness and efficiency of the operations of an enterprise as well as employee performance. Moreover they will learn how to use accounts to assist them in making capital investment decisions for a variety of purposes, including the acquisition or sale of shares, lending of money, and provision of goods on credit.

Graduates of this course are employed in both the public and private sectors in small, medium and large organisations.
